Award-winning hotel to reopen as Domes Lake Algarve
The Lake Spa Resort in Vilamoura – which in 2021 was named The first luxury lifestyle resort in Europe at the World Travel Awards – has been rebranded and will reopen as Domes Lake Algarve to April 9 with a special “family-oriented” Easter program.
The hotel will be managed by the Greek hotel group Domes Resorts, which describes itself as “one of the fastest growing luxury hotel brands in the Mediterranean”.
It is reopening after a €7 million upgrade by owner Hotel Investment Partners (HIP), which announced last year that the investment would “transform the property with a complete refurbishment of all rooms and common areas, and a rebranding of all food and beverage outlets.
“In addition, a new adult-only swimming pool will be created, as well as a pool bar for the new adults-only pool area, and finally, a total reconceptualization of the gastronomic menu with the Domes catering concepts”, he said. -he adds.
“This iconic luxury hotel with 192 rooms and suiteswhich is now part of the luxury hotel portfolio of the Greek group Domes Resorts, presents itself with a clear Mediterranean inspiration, with interiors that allude to the environment eco-protected landscapewhose cool colors reflect the property’s gardens, pools and lake,” Domes Resorts said in a statement.
The Domes Lake Algarve will also offer a “hotel within a hotel” experience for “more discerning travelers who seek space, privacy and a deeper connection to nature, with tranquility and an active local experience”.
“With its exclusive salt water lake and private access to Praia da Falésia Beachfour sparkling swimming pools, a 1.2km terrace and viewing pergolas, Domes Lake Algarve is the perfect scenario to relax in a tranquil environment and make the most of what the region has to offer, such as catching clams and oysters, bird watching, sailing or wine tasting,” the group’s statement read.
Domes Lake Algarve will also feature Soma Spawhich combines ancient Greek methods and contemporary healing techniques with results-driven products from ELEMIS and Godage Paris.
“Eco-responsible” activities are also planned for children, who will be able to learn how to plant their own flowers and plants in an “interactive and educational experience”.
The gastronomic selection of the hotel is also highlighted. Topos, a restaurant with Greek revival inspirationis described as ideal for those wishing to enjoy fresh seafood or a cocktail by the hotel’s lakeside, while a 12-course menu featuring fresh, seasonal produce can be discovered at Makris On The Lake and accompanied by a selection of Portuguese wines.
To celebrate its opening and the Easter season, Domes Lake Algarve has announced a special program for families which will offer free accommodation to children aged 12 and under – for stays of at least three nights.
Guests will be greeted with a toast and have a “delicious surprise” waiting for them in their room.
There will also be 20% discounts available at Soma Spa and a variety of themed activities for the whole family on April 16.
