Best luxury hotels in Beaune 2022

The fortified capital of Burgundy wine is surrounded by the vineyards of the Côte d’Or. It’s a leader in wine tourism (wine tourism), but also a very pretty place to visit with 15th-century architecture and quaint cobbled streets that look like something out of a storybook. Located on the Bouzaise River, Beaune is part of the Côte-d’Or department, to the south-west of Dijon, which provides the majority of its main transport links. Restaurants, cafes and bi-weekly markets delight foodies and of course a wine tasting session is anything but obligatory. Here are our favorite places to stay in town.

Hostellerie Cedre & Spa Beaune

Overlooking the ramparts of Beaune, this 40-room hotel favors well-being and good food. Its refined and starred restaurant, Le Clos du Cèdre, is located in the adjoining 19th century winegrower’s house with its original decor and outdoor terrace. There is a lounge bar with an imposing fireplace, games, a piano and a library, as well as a cigar cellar in the basement. And there’s the Nuxe Spa, set in a stunning vaulted stone cellar with jacuzzi, hammam and chic treatment cabins. Rooms are colorful yet serene, with reverse-cycle air-conditioning and Nuxe bath products.

Hostellerie De Levernois

A charming refuge by the river, the Hostellerie De Levernois is a rustic white mansion, surrounded by six hectares of parkland and centuries-old trees. Ingredients from its vegetable garden are used in the creation of Bistrot du Bord de l’Eau’s dishes, all cooked in the original 18th century kitchen. Choose wines from a selection of approximately 1,000 bottles, kept in the property’s cellar. Rooms feature period features such as wooden beams and exposed stone walls, complemented by upscale French country chic decor. The Relais & Chateau property is just three miles from the train station and minutes from the highway, yet feels wonderfully secluded.
