Taylor Hogan wins second MVC Diver of the Week this season

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa- Taylor Hogan was named MVC Diver of the Week for the second time during the 2021-22 season. The appointment comes shortly after qualifying for NCAA diving zones and recording a new personal best.

Taylor Hogan qualified for NCAA diving zones with a new personal best of 286.35 in the 3-meter range against Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday afternoon. With a Back 1 ½ with 2 ½ Twists to close the round, she scored a 50.40, matching her season high for that dive and surpassing the qualifying standard of 280. Hogan finished first against the field of eight divers competing on 3 meters. the Saturday. Her roster includes four dives with a degree of difficulty greater than 2.7, including a Back 2 ½ in Pike position rating at 3.0, for which she scored 47.25. She ranks second among the all-time best in UNI history with a score of 286.35. Hogan is ranked second in the 3 meter plateau and fourth in the 1 meter plateau among all MVC divers.

Hogan’s first MVC Diver of the Week nomination came after UNI defeated the University of Iowa for the first time in school history. During this meet, she placed fourth in the 1 meter and 3 meter boards.

The Panthers are gearing up for the MVC Championships taking place in Iowa City from Wednesday, Feb. 16 through Saturday, Feb. 19. Each day begins with preliminary races starting at 11 a.m. and ends with finals starting at 6 p.m. The MVC Championships are held at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center on the University of Iowa campus.
