The Twenty Two in Mayfair sees old Picture restaurant duo reunite | Recent news
We’re quietly excited about the upcoming all-day restaurant that’s part of The Twenty Two’s opening in Grosvenor Square. There haven’t been many reveals so far, but there is a reunion of two chefs who last worked together at the Michelin-starred Picture.
Alan Christie has taken on the role of executive chef while his former partner Colin Kelly will serve as chef de cuisine at the restaurant at this Mayfair location. Given that the hotel’s general manager, Darius Namdar, helped start Chiltern Firehouse, there should be a lot of buzz surrounding this new spot.
The all-day dining restaurant will serve a modern British menu. In an interview with Boutique hotelNamdar says, “It’s a very seasonal offering, so when it opens, we’ll see more spring dishes come into play. The best way to describe the menu is a minimal number of ingredients on the plate. which are of the highest quality that we can find as close to the hotel as possible. There will be things like pumpkin soup, lots of risottos and big seasonal salads. Lots of great seafood and shellfish too, but overall very very seasonal.
For drinks, expect a range of house spirits as well as plenty of biodynamic, organic and vegan wines.
