Warsaw Chamber seeks help to spread holiday cheer | Local
WARSAW – The Warsaw Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses to dress their business in holiday decor and participate in the city’s upcoming celebrations.
The first will start on Thursday, December 2 at 6 p.m., where Duplin residents will have the chance to enjoy a Christmas tree lighting event with Santa Claus arriving in a fire engine at the wellness center. from Warsaw at 210 W. Hill Street. The Boy Scouts will provide hot chocolate and cookies. A kids’ area will have fun holiday crafts for kids.
The second planned event is Christmas Town and will take place on Saturday December 11th. The Warsaw Chamber of Commerce, the City of Warsaw and Warsaw Merchants have all teamed up with local organizations and churches to dress Front Street in the middle of Christmas. splendor while providing extended hours of operation.
“We invite you to be a part of our event,” said Carolyn Quinn, from the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce.
Donations to help cover the cost of Boy Scouts cookies and cocoa, Santa Claus, craft kits for children and to provide first aid stations will be greatly appreciated, ”she added.
In addition to the traditional holiday festivities, the event will have a variety of vendors, from food trucks to wagon rides to help visitors experience the vacation charm of the city up close and personal.
“We look forward to an assortment of shopping opportunities on Front Street,” Quinn said. “… Local home businesses and tram rides will be available for young and old alike.”
Additionally, Quinn says the city will be opening a gingerbread house and stocking decorating contest followed by a holiday movie on Sunday, December 12 at Warsaw Parks and Recreation at 309 Memorial Drive from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. .
