Ziwe quickly became a beloved funny girl who is able to handle difficult conversations smoothly with her magnetic mind. She went from stardom Instagram Live, where she asked guests like Alyssa Milano and Caroline Calloway questions such as “How many black friends do you have?”, To having her own show, Ziwe on Showtime, with Fran Lebowitz in the spotlight. Ziwe has a straightforward sensibility that will slice and dice anyone she interviews. And her love for dynamic fashion is just as captivating and lively as her humor. Think: larger-than-life hats, big boas, bright colors and references to Distraught and Moesha. Her style got her noticed by luxury houses like Valentino, who invited her to their spring 2022 show in Paris. “Not to quote the famous film Passport to Paris with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, but I never felt more French, ”says Ziwe Vogue. “I could see the Eiffel Tower from my hotel room.”

Over the next few days, she took advantage of everything the city had to offer during Paris Fashion Week, whether it was ordering a truckload of cheese omelets, having a drink at the Ritz or watch the Valentino fashion show. “The trip was amazing from start to finish. I felt like Carrie Bradshaw, but not sad, in Paris, ”she says. “It was so crazy to see people in person expressing themselves through their clothes, and me coming out and expressing myself.” She also met some familiar faces, including Demi Moore (“the sweetest and most charming woman to meet”) and Naomi Campbell. “It’s me and Emily [Ratajkowski] yo-yo-gabbing, and this woman walks up to Emily with a mask on and Emily introduces me to ‘Hey Naomi, this is Ziwe’, ”she said. “I would say it was like a fervent Catholic meeting with the Pope.”

Valentino de Ziwe’s awesome and fabulous look suited him perfectly. She wore a loose purple dress, which she describes as “frockish” and a pair of white platform high heels – “out of. Distraught”—With a pink jeweled bag. Watching the show, she was drawn to another purple dress that paraded: the 91 look, adorned with a flowing cape. “I thought, ‘Okay, do I have to find a lover? Should I get engaged? How can I speed up the wedding so that I can wear this dress at a wedding? Ziwe said. “It was so gorgeous I wanted to wear it now.”
